Crop All, One, or Selected PDF Pages in Your Browser

One keep area can target all, one, or selected pages

The current PDF Cropper lets you preview any page, then draw the rectangular area that should remain visible. You may apply that crop to every page, only the page currently being previewed, or a custom list such as 1-3, 6, 9-12.

The same percentage-based keep area is mapped separately to each chosen page. Rotation-aware PDF coordinates help mixed orientations and page sizes, but you should still inspect the result because one rectangle may not suit every layout.

The PDF is cropped without turning pages into images

The tool updates each selected page's PDF CropBox with pdf-lib. It does not rasterize the page, so ordinary text and vector graphics can remain in their original PDF form. However, forms, links, annotations, and digital signatures may behave differently after the document is saved.

CropBox is not secure redaction. Content outside the visible area can remain inside the PDF structure even though a normal viewer hides it. Never use cropping alone to remove private, legal, financial, or identifying information.

Current browser safety boundaries

The input limit is 100 MB and the document may contain up to 2,000 pages. A preview is capped at 24 million pixels, estimated processing memory at 384 MB, and generated output at 200 MB. Password-protected, corrupt, damaged, or unsupported PDFs are rejected.

Preview navigation and exact percentages work together

Previous and Next controls let you inspect the source before choosing a target. You may drag directly on the canvas or enter Left, Top, Width, and Height percentages, then use Full page to restore a 100% keep area.

Changing the preview page does not create a second crop shape. The current rectangle remains the shared instruction for whichever pages you select, so mixed designs still deserve a page-by-page check afterward.

Cancellation and output checks prevent stale downloads

A long crop job can be cancelled. Before offering the result, the tool checks the generated size, estimated memory use, and PDF signature. The download receives a clear MagicalToolz cropped filename only after those checks pass.

Keep the source document until you have opened the new file in a second PDF viewer and reviewed its selected and unchanged pages.

Watch for this

Cropping changes the visible page boundary; it does not securely erase hidden material. Use a proper redaction workflow when information must be removed, and verify every selected page before sharing the result.

Use All pages for repeated scanner borders, Previewed page only for one exception, or Custom pages/ranges when a cover or appendix needs to stay unchanged.

Example

A report has wide scanner margins on pages 2 through 20 but a full-bleed cover. Preview a typical inside page, draw a safe keep area, choose Custom pages/ranges, and enter 2-20. The cover remains unchanged.

Draw around what must remain, not what you want removed

The crop rectangle represents the area you want to keep. Place all essential text, graphics, page labels, signatures, and other required content inside its edges.

Don't trace the unwanted margin itself. If you draw the rectangle only over a white border, you'll define the wrong retained area and risk producing pages that exclude the actual document content.

Leave a little breathing room around important elements. A crop line placed directly against the last letter of a heading or the edge of a diagram can be too aggressive if another page shifts by a small amount.

Drag the dashed red rectangle over the first-page preview so it covers everything you want visible in the finished PDF. Keep a small inner margin around important content, then check that the same rectangle would also fit the remaining pages before starting the crop.

The crop can improve reading without rewriting the text

Large white borders make the useful content occupy a smaller portion of a phone, tablet, or laptop screen. Trimming repeated margins can let the page body appear larger at the same zoom level.

This is especially useful for scanned material whose text is surrounded by scanner bed space or printed margins. The document can feel easier to read because less empty area competes for the display.

Cropping doesn't perform OCR, edit words, correct a tilted scan, or sharpen blurry text. It changes the visible page boundary rather than recognizing or rewriting the page content.

If a scan is faint, skewed, or low resolution, you'll need other tools for those issues. A tighter boundary can improve presentation, but it can't repair the underlying image quality.

Use a safety margin when pages aren't perfectly aligned

Scanned pages can drift slightly even when they come from the same book. One sheet may sit a little farther left, while another may be higher or lower on the scanner bed.

A crop box placed tightly against page-one text could clip those shifted pages. Leaving a narrow cushion around the content reduces that risk while still removing most of the unwanted border.

The more variation you see, the wider that cushion should be. If the drift is substantial, uniform cropping may no longer be the right method.

A conservative first crop is safer than an aggressive one. You can create another output from the original PDF if more border can be removed, but you shouldn't discard your source before checking the result.

Your PDF stays on your device

The crop operation runs in your browser without uploading the document to magicaltoolz.in. The page reads the PDF, applies the selected boundary, and prepares the output locally.

You don't need to sign in or create an account for the core workflow. The completed result is a real .pdf file that you download to your device.

Local processing still uses your device's memory and processor. A long, image-heavy scanned document may take more time or put more pressure on the browser than a short text-based PDF.

The PDF remains on your device while the tool displays the first-page preview and applies the crop. Nothing is uploaded for server processing, and the cropped PDF is created locally for you to download without an account.

Inspect the downloaded PDF page by page

Open the result before replacing or sharing the original. Check the first page, a few pages from the middle, and the final page rather than assuming one good preview represents the entire document.

Look closely at headers, footers, page numbers, diagrams, signatures, and text near every edge. These elements are the easiest to clip when a repeated crop is applied to a page that shifts from the template.

For a long scan, sample chapter openings and any pages that looked different in the source. If something has been cut, return to the original and draw a larger crop box with more room around the content.

Keep the uncropped PDF. It gives you a clean starting point for another attempt and protects against losing material that fell outside an overly tight selection.
