PNG to JPG: Choose Quality, Background and Batch Settings

Choose the transparency background before converting PNG to JPG. JPG cannot store transparent pixels, so every clear or partly clear area must be blended with a solid color.

The active PNG to JPG Converter handles one PNG or a browser-local batch. It provides quality, resizing, exact-canvas, smoothing, preview and ZIP controls. Use only the settings the destination needs.

Current input limits

The queue accepts up to 30 PNG files. Each file can be up to 50 MB. Total input is limited to 250 MB and 200 megapixels across decoded images. Each individual PNG must also stay within the tool's dimension safety check.

These are finite browser-memory limits, not a promise that every maximum-size batch will run equally fast on every phone or computer. Use smaller batches on a low-memory device.

Confirm that the source is really PNG

The tool checks the PNG file signature instead of trusting the extension. Renaming a JPG to .png does not create a PNG and should be rejected.

Open a damaged source in another image app first. The converter changes format; it does not claim to repair corrupted image data.

Pick a JPG quality

The quality slider runs from 10 to 100 and starts at 92. Presets offer Small at 60, Balanced at 82 and High quality at 92.

Higher quality normally keeps more detail and creates a larger file. The exact size depends on dimensions, colors and image detail. No setting guarantees a target number of kilobytes.

Inspect letters, barcodes, thin lines and flat-color edges. JPG suits photographs better than many screenshots and logos because lossy compression can leave halos around sharp shapes.

Choose the transparency fill

The initial background is white. Change it when the JPG will appear on another color. A pale logo can disappear on white, while a white halo can appear around a cutout placed on a dark page.

Semi-transparent pixels blend into the chosen color. That change cannot be reversed inside the JPG. Keep the PNG when the same graphic must work on several backgrounds.

Four resizing methods

• Original dimensions: keep the PNG width and height.
• Percentage: scale from 1 to 400 percent.
• Maximum size: fit inside width and height limits.
• Exact canvas: create the specified output canvas.

Width and height fields accept values up to 8,192 pixels. Keep the aspect-ratio lock selected unless distortion is intentional.

Contain, cover or stretch

Exact-canvas mode includes three fitting choices. Contain shows the whole image and may leave background space. Cover fills the canvas and crops edges. Stretch fills both dimensions by changing the image proportions.

Use contain for documents and products that must not be cropped. Use cover for a fixed visual tile after checking every edge. Avoid stretch for faces, products and logos.

Resize smoothing

High-quality smoothing suits most photographs and normal reductions. Balanced uses a middle setting. Pixel sharp can help pixel art or hard-edged low-resolution graphics, but test the result.

A smoothing choice cannot recover detail from a tiny source. Avoid scaling above 100 percent unless you accept a softer result.

Convert and compare

1. Add one PNG first when testing new settings.
2. Select its card and inspect the large original preview.
3. Choose quality, dimensions, fit and background.
4. Set a safe filename prefix, up to 80 characters.
5. Convert the queue.
6. Compare original size, output size, dimensions and reported change.
7. Open the converted preview and inspect edges.
8. Download the JPG from its card.
9. When several results finish, use Download ZIP if one package is useful.

ZIP availability does not change the JPG files. It only packages multiple completed downloads.

Test shared batch settings first

The selected conversion settings apply across the queue. That works well when all PNG files need the same background, quality and resizing rule. It can produce wrong results when a batch mixes white logos, dark logos, screenshots and product photos.

Convert one representative file before running all 30. If sources need different backgrounds or fit modes, split them into separate batches. Check the first, middle and final downloads rather than assuming one preview represents every image.

You can cancel an active batch or remove items, but keep the original files until every downloaded JPG has been checked. A browser refresh clears the working queue and temporary results.

File names and output order

Use a short prefix that helps identify the delivery set without hiding the original base name. After ZIP download, sort the files and compare the count with successful queue results. A ZIP package should not be treated as proof that every source converted.

Privacy and metadata

Conversion, resizing, compositing, previews and ZIP creation run in the browser. The current workflow does not upload selected PNG files to Magical Toolz.

Browser re-encoding also does not copy ordinary PNG metadata. That is not a complete privacy guarantee for the device, browser extensions, downloaded files or backups. Inspect sensitive output separately.
