Search with a known MICR code

MICR and IFSC are different codes

MICR isn't the same as SWIFT or BIC
SWIFT or BIC details are generally used for international bank transfers. MICR is connected with Indian cheque-processing information. They identify different parts of banking activity and shouldn't be exchanged in a form.

A branch-code search can show what the database associates with a MICR number. It can't confirm that an account number belongs to a person, that a cheque has funds, or that a cheque will clear.
It also can't replace the bank's own checks during a transaction. Those checks may include account status, signature rules, mandate details, and other information that a public branch directory doesn't contain.
Use the finder to narrow or compare branch information. Use the bank for account-specific confirmation.
What to do when no branch appears
No matching result doesn't always mean the branch doesn't exist. The bank may have changed the branch name, the spelling may differ, or the database may not contain every field.
Try the bank name with the city, check the nine-digit number for typing errors, and use the guided locator if you know the state, district, and branch area.
Don't substitute a nearby branch's MICR just to complete the form. Check the chequebook or contact the bank instead.
